We didn’t spend many days in Ghent, so we hadn’t had the chance to try several places. Yet, we found some good options to eat and sleep in Ghent!
Where to eat in Ghent
Ghent is actually full of restaurants, cafés, and bars. The main sites and squares host several options for all needs. For lunch and aperitivo, I suggest finding a good place in Korenmarkt or Klein Turkije.
We tried Poule & Poulette for lunch and the outdoor seating at Mòris for a spritz (I love it!). Both good both nothing exceptional!
Dinner
Otium Cucina Italiana
- FOOD 7,5/10
- LOCATION 7,5/10
- PRICE €/€€€
- RESERVATION NEEDED yes
Yes, I know, this is an Italian place. But please don’t judge me! I have always been convinced – and I still am – that when traveling abroad you have to try the local specialties. However, after some time traveling, we begin to start missing your home tastes. In addition, the restaurant itself has only positive reviews… So we ended up reserving a table outside at Otium. And we were happy with this choice.
The restaurant is located on the riverside of Ajuinlei, a 5-min walk from the Graslei, in a quieter area of Ghent. The location itself is nice and simple. Chefs and recipes are real Italian and the food was very tasty! I opted for a dish of pasta with fish and really liked it. I mean, I didn’t have any expectations, but they didn’t disappoint me. Recommended if you are craving home flavors!
