DAY #3
#6 Visit the City Park on a sunny day
Our last day in Budapest was sunny and warm, that’s why we decided to spend some time wandering around the city to enjoy it with a different perspective. Plus, we were still missing the North-Eastern section of Budapest – the City Park – and the Jewish quarter. So we proceeded as follows:
- Heroes’ Square – Budapest’s biggest square (reach this first stop by bus #105. Tickets are sold at the purple machines around the city)
- Vajdahunyad Castle – visit the gardens around this castle to travel back in time
- Széchenyi Thermal Bath – for a complete section about thermal baths check this post – When visiting the City Park we just wanted to have a look at these thermal baths, just from the outside, since they are very scenic. However, they were open for visits just at midday. We decided to skip them, as we wanted to continue our visit in the city.
#7 Immerse yourself in the Jewish quarter
After hanging around the park for some time, we headed back to the city centre to discover the Jewish quarter and visit the Dohány Street Synagogue. There will be a guide inside, as they organize tours in several languages.
#8 Take a moment to relax at the thermal baths
One impossible-to-miss activity in Budapest! Check the dedicated post!
What else?
#9 Have breakfast at New York Café
Yes, it is a tourist place. I cannot deny it. However, I still enjoyed our breakfast at New York Café. Check out our experience here and have a look at the other great places to eat in Budapest!
#10 Enjoy the vibrant nightlife
I didn’t expect it, but Budapest is so alive at night! Check out our experience here!
My opinion about Budapest
Budapest is a fascinating city. The Parliament, the Danube, the Castle, the thermal baths, and the vibrant nightlife give this city charm and allure you want to be part of! I didn’t expect it to be this pleasant, and after spending the long-weekend of Easter here, I truly appreciated its beauty. Yes, the visit is totally worth it!
