Bruxelles: 10 Things To Do

10 Things to Do in Bruxelles

#6 Visit the Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert

A beautiful setting for nice shops and countless cafés, the Gallery of Saint Hubert together with Rue des Bouchers are a vibrant area of Bruxelles to spend some time hanging around.

#7 Explore Place de la Bourse

With the Brussels Stock Exchange in the middle, this square is full of cafés and restaurants. Saint Nicholas Church is located right at the opposite side of the Bourse.

#8 Find out the most popular graffiti

Seems like Bruxelles will never get enough graffiti! Here the ones we liked the most:

  • Asterix & Obelix – Rue de la Buanderie 19
  • Lucky Luke – Rue de la Buanderie 45
  • Tintin – Rue de l’Etuve
  • Tibet & Duchateau – Rue du Bon Secours 9
  • Balkan Trafik – Rue du Marché aux Peaux

#9 Buy (and eat) some good chocolate

Finally, it’s time for some good chocolate. There are many shops in the city. A very popular one is Dandoy. If you are afraid of the argument you might have with the scale once the journey is over, then just have a look at the very nice and detailed windows. However, what I thought is that since I’m here now, and I don’t know when I’ll be back, I cannot miss the opportunity to taste this chocolate! Hence, I entered the shop. And ate chocolate. So, don’t count the calories people, just remember the good memories!

#10 Take the subway to Laeken

If you have some time left, take the subway and reach Laeken. This is where the royal family usually lives and where both the Atomium and Mini-Europe are.

  • Atomium – built for the World Exposition of 1958, it is a weird atomic structure made of 9 big spheres;
  • Mini-Europe – mini models of Europe’s most popular monuments
  • Royal Greenhouses of Laeken – check out the opening hours to admire the tropical plants.

My opinion about Bruxelles

Well, as I said before, this is not my favourite city in Belgium. But still, I thought it would have been right to visit it properly at least once. So if you have one day available, then allow Bruxelles to show you its attractions.
