One of The Netherlands’ most iconic historical figures, Anne Frank lived hidden together with her family in a 17th-century house, till they were discovered by the Nazis. Today, Anne Frank House hosts a museum dedicated to the world-famous diary that Anne wrote during her stay here.
Tickets for the museum
To visit the museum, you must buy tickets online, as they don’t sell tickets at the museum. Tickets will go sold out about 3 weeks before your visit, especially if you plan to visit on the weekend. So be sure to get online and buy your tickets in advance.
In case, for any reason, you find out your day is already fully booked, don’t give up! There is still a chance you will get your hands on those craved tickets. The website sells only 80% of the tickets in advance. This means there is a remaining 20% which is sold on the same date of the visit. They add tickets at different times of the day; so the solution is being constantly online, refreshing the page until you see some tickets available.
I honestly forgot to buy the tickets in advance, or better I underestimated the hundreds of people visiting the museum. So on the same day when we wanted to visit the museum, I woke up early and went to the website to be ready to buy the tickets. When I accessed the website, there were about 190 people before me trying to access the website… We were not the only ones without tickets! I started looking at the website at 9:00 am, and after 5-10 minutes I accessed the website, but the tickets were already gone. So I had to do the process all over again. So, remember to refresh the page and wait to find available tickets. In the end, I got my hands on the tickets at about 10:30 am.
